Skin neuroageing:
A new anti-ageing strategy from Codif
Neuroguard from Codif opens the door to new neurocosmetic
strategies. Beyond nerve-cell communications, it decrypts,
targets and provides preventive and curative treatment against
skin neuroageing.
"It was no surprise to see Neuroguard scooping a 'Best
Active Ingredient' award at In-Cosmetics 2015. Not only is the
science a huge step forward in anti-ageing, the efficacy data
for Neuroguard is incredible."

What
are neurocosmetics?
"Neurocosmetic" is a term used to describe
anti-ageing technologies that
recognise and target the way in
which the nervous, endocrine and immune
systems impact the
skin's physiology.
Neuroguard: A
breakthrough discovery by Codif
Codif's laboratories have demonstrated that the ageing of neurons directly affects the communication
between nerves and fibroblasts, triggering a fall in fibroblast vitality and a decrease in collagen and
elastin synthesis. Neuroageing promotes Fibroageing.
Neuroguard is an oligosaccharide mainly composed of 2 Uronic acids: guluronic acid (Gul. Ac) and
mannuronic acid
(Man. Ac) obtained by enzymatic depolymerisation from saccharides coming from
brown algae.
Among the brown algae used to obtain these starting saccharides are Laminaria hyperborea and
Lessonia
nigrescens.
