Nopalex is a result of the fermentation of whole cactus plant (predominently the pads) selectively enriched in low molecular weight peptides, carbohydrates and bound minerals.

Nopalex is designed to reduce neurosensory irritation caused by the application of topical products such as retinoids and AHAs. Opuntia ficus-indica is also commonly refered to as Prickly Pear or Barbary Fig.
