Cetpro BMT is a synthetic oil soluble sunscreen that absorbs both UV-A and UV-B rays at wavelengths from 280 to 400nm, with peak protections at about 310 and 345nm. Only small concentrations are required to achieve a high Sun Protection Factor (SPF) and UV-A Protection Factor (UVAPF). It is approved for the use in sun care preparations in many countries worldwide – in Europe the maximum concentration allowed is 10%. It is waiting for FDA approval, so currently not available in the USA. It is a super photostable UV filter, only losing 10% of its SPF protection ability in 25 hours. It is also ideal to stabilise other less stable sunscreen agents, like Avobenzone. Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine is also known under the name Bemotrizinol.
