Vitamin C is considered to be one of the most powerful antioxidants as well as providing anti-ageing benefits by reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Below, you’ll find some Vitamin C products from our extensive Cetpro range of ingredients, if you have any questions or want to request a sample, please get in touch.

Cetpro EAC (3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid):

3-O-Ethyl-Ascorbic Acid, or Ethyl Ascorbic Acid is a molecule produced by modifying Ascorbic Acid, commonly known as Vitamin C, by binding an ethyl group to the third carbon position. This modification greatly increases the molecule’s stability and enhances its transport through skin, compared to pure Vitamin C which is easily degraded.

In the body, the ethyl group is removed and Vitamin C is restored to its natural form. Thus, Ethyl Ascorbic Acid retains all the benefits of Vitamin C, such as antioxidant activity and collagen synthesis.

Cetpro SAP (Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate):

Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (SAP) is the most stable form of vitamin C, which means it does not oxidise. It is more stable and bioavailable than magnesium ascorbyl phosphate (MAP), ascorbyl palmitate and L-ascorbic acid. It is an antioxidant that reduces oxidative stress by neutralising free radicals, effectively slowing the ageing process and slowing the formation of fine lines and wrinkles.  SAP has the ability to penetrate the epidermis without causing irritation.

Cetpro AG (Ascorbyl Glucoside):

Ascorbyl glucoside has a structure in which the C2-hydroxyl group of L-ascorbic acid is masked with glucose. Once selectively permeated through the skin, ascorbyl glucoside is broken down into L-ascorbic acid and glucose by the enzyme alpha-glucosidase.

Because ascorbyl glucoside is broken down into L-ascorbic acid, it has the same functions as L-ascorbic acid: exhibiting high antioxidant activity, acting as a coenzyme for enzymes involved in collagen synthesis (namely prolyl and lysyl hydroxylase), and inhibiting the synthesis of melanin.

Cetpro ATIP (Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate):

Cetpro ATIPis a stable, oil-soluble form of Vitamin C considered to be more potent than L-Ascorbic acid and other Vitamin C compounds, and has a higher rate of penetration (because it is lipid-soluble, like human skin) than other derivatives; it also has a higher rate of conversion to Vitamin C within the dermis.
